When Zelig is hospitalized to her facility, Dr. Eudora Fletcher (Mia Farrow), a psychiatrist, wants to help him with this peculiar disorder.4 Using hypnosis, she finds that Zelig craves praise so much that he alters his physical appearance to fit in with people around him. Zelig’s need to adapt is eventually relieved by Dr. Fletcher, but not before going too far in the opposite direction. For a little while, he becomes so intolerable of other people’s viewpoints that he fights over whether or not it’s a lovely day.
