Vintage Original B&W Photo, The Shipyards of Nikolaev named after 61 Communards – 1931

A significant shipyard in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, is called the Shipyard named after 61 Communards. Although the shipyard was formerly known as Soviet Shipyard No. 200, it is currently more frequently referred to as Nikolaev North Shipyard. The shipyard was renamed in honor of 61 Communards in 1931. Submarines, destroyers, light cruisers, torpedo boats, and naval supply vessels—including rescue vessels serving diverse missions and outfitted with deep-water operation systems—were constructed thereafter.
