With more than 60 years of experience, Ron Howard is a well-known American director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Born on March 1, 1954, in Duncan, Oklahoma, Howard started his career in entertainment as a child actor and became well-known nationwide for his performance as Opie Taylor on “The Andy Griffith Show” (1960–1968). Over the course of his career, Howard has won two Academy Awards, six Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Grammy Award. 2013 saw him admitted into the Television Hall of Fame, and in 2003 he received the National Medal of Arts.
