After being fired due to a social plan, Alain Brissot (Jean Rochefort), an executive of a sizable company situated in the La Défense neighborhood, chooses to demonstrate his opposition by staying in his position despite all obstacles. He starts a hunger strike right away. Supporters and opponents of the striker swiftly clash within the organization, and Director Michael Lonsdale and his assistant Christian Clavier do everything in their power to get the striker out of there as soon as possible. The frame gets knocked back.
