A Yorkshire Terrier’s coat needs cultivating with extreme care. Coats that trail the ground should be rolled in paper and securely tied to allow the dog a maximum of freedom of movement, Hutchinson’s Dog Encyclopedia stated in 1935. The Yorkshire Terrier, as its name implies, is closely linked to the County of York in northern England. It is this region that inspired stories about folklore and veterinary tales from James Herriot, the stormy moors of “Wuthering Heights,” and, more recently, the dramatization of great houses on television shows like “Downton Abbey.”
Poor Condition: This photograph exhibits extensive signs of wear and aging, including severe creases and noticeable scratches, tears, or marks. Fingerprints are also visible on the surface. Despite its compromised physical state, the photograph retains considerable historical significance and charm.
