Vintage Original B&W Photo, Johnny Hallyday modelling the Ferrari 250 in 1963

Rock & roll is recognized as having originated in France thanks to the French singer and actor Johnny Hallyday. In March 1960, the Vogue label published his debut single, “T’aimer follement” (meaning “Love you madly”). This song was a French version of the contentious 1959 Floyd Robinson hit “Makin’ Love,” which was also a hit for Dalida the month before. From 1952 until 1964, Ferrari produced a range of sports cars and grand tourers known as the 250. The 250 series, the company’s most popular early model line, comes in a number of versions intended for usage on public roads or sports car racing.
