La Cuadra de Sevilla is a Spanish independent theatrical group based in Seville that has performed across Spain, Europe, and Latin America between 1969 and the turn of the century. In the last months of 1971, in a small place in the Sevillian neighborhood of Cerro del guila, Salvador Távora, Alfonso Jiménez, and Paco Lira, owner of the property (which would later take the group’s name), conceived the Quejio, a dramatic show composed with flamenco elements and regarded by sectors of theater criticism as “a shocking plea against discrimination and academicism.”
