He began working in tandem with Claude Evrard in 1960; both were students of Jacques Lecoq. Together, they composed a series of lighthearted sketches, which they presented in a variety of left-bank cabarets in Paris, including La Colombe (the cabaret where they first appear, hosted by Michel Valette), L’Écluse, La Galerie 55, Milord l’Arsouille, etc. Between 1970 and 1975, they had a lot of success. They appeared on Quentin Durward’s little screen, Bobino, the Olympia, and other venues. Philippe Avron appears in three motion pictures: Bye Bye Barbara by Michel Deville, Les Fêtes galantes by René Clair, and Fifi la plume by Albert Lamorisse.
