Vintage Original B&W Photo, the Dnieper Dam Destroyed by the Nazis during Great Patriotic War – 1943

 700.00

Several important and infrastructure sites were attacked and destroyed between 1941 and 1945, while the Soviet Union fought Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War. The destruction of the Dnieper Hydropower Plant, which was one of the biggest in Europe at the time, was one notable incident. Completed in the 1930s, the Dnieper Hydropower Station (also called DniproHES) is located in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, and represents a significant feat of Soviet engineering. In addition to being essential for producing electricity, the dam was also important for the region’s water supply, navigation, and flood control.

  • Size: 465x580mm
  • Year: 1943

The photograph remains in good condition, preserving its visual impact and historical significance despite signs of age and handling. The pinholes on every corner and chipped parts in the middle bottom. These imperfections, while noticeable, do not detract significantly from the overall impact of the image.
