Vintage Original Photo, One of The Bulilding in Cherkassy – 1960

A novel plan for a 250-hectare forest-hydropark region of the city was created in the 1960s by Kyiv architects. It consisted of a network of interconnected parks incorporated into abandoned oak woodlands and Dnieper islands. The concept called for the building of island parks around the city’s whole coast, divided by lakes, leisure areas, and artificial floodplains that would be joined by suspension bridges. Although the project was not completed, its scope was impressive—nearly the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were planned to be constructed.
