One notable dam is the Dnieper Hydroelectric Station (DniproHES), which is located near Zaporizhzhia in Ukraine. It’s one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world and plays a crucial role in Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The dam itself consists of several sections, with the main dam being over 800 meters long. It has a series of hydroelectric turbines that generate electricity, contributing significantly to Ukraine’s power supply. Additionally, the reservoir created by the dam serves multiple purposes, including flood control, water supply for various industries, and recreational activities.
