When Mireille sang at Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve 1950, she received a lollipops as payment for her first paid performance in front of an audience at the age of four. Seeing Édith Piaf perform on TV was a pivotal experience. Due to her dyslexia, Mireille did not do well in primary school and had to take an additional year to graduate.
