Postal Card of Mireille Mathieu in 1960

Over 150 million records have been sold globally by French singer Mireille Mathieu (1946), who has released over 1200 songs in eleven languages. She made a few cinematic appearances as well. When Mireille sang at Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve 1950, she received a lollipops as payment for her first paid performance in front of an audience at the age of four. Seeing Édith Piaf perform on TV was a pivotal experience. Due to her dyslexia, Mireille did not do well in primary school and had to take an additional year to graduate.
